Welcoming Blooms of Wisdom
Would you agree with this quote by Cicero, an Ancient Roman philosopher?
And what about this one by a modern author?
It appears that flowers and spoken/written words have an extraordinary value in the life of humanity. We think so. And hence, the idea of a tulip book was born a year ago.
Accompanying each watercolor study of the locally grown tulips with some of my favorite quotes.
I can imagine you taking your time before you turn the page.
Do it slowly.
Look at the amazing magic of the watercolor pigments blending so beautifully creating darks and lights.
Think of each word.
The order of them, the author, the timing when it was written-everything matters and completes the image’s deep philosophical and aesthetical effect on each of you.
TWO years. Whole two years. And now, it is happening.
Our first Book, Her: Blooms of Wisdom
When we saw Her yesterday for the first time, we were overwhelmed with a turmoil of emotions. Why? Because since childhood I allowed myself to dream. And all my dreams, all, came true! Including this one.
Before my mom passing one year ago, she said “You are so lucky”. I silently disagreed with her, but did not say anything, just smiled and let her feel happily that way: her daughter is very lucky.
To me, “LUCK” has a simple formula, very simple, in that order:
LUCK = belief in your dream(s) + persistence +passion + not giving up- ever + enthusiasm + energy + bringing her (dream) to the very end.
Then joy. Just like we, my daughters and myself, felt yesterday. Physical realization of my dream, which soon became OUR dream.
Well, my “luck” included my two dear daughters, most creative and passionate young women, who joined me and took the major role in bringing Her to the very end. You might say, it is luck. Or their luck was that in our family they had lots of role models, particularly their grandparents.
And yes, She is dedicated to my dear parents, who passed exactly one year ago, within just two months from each other. My dad’s funeral was on his birthday and my mom’s one was on March 8, an exceptionally special day for both of them: the day of their wedding, always celebrated.
So, this year, on their 63d wedding anniversary, we dedicate Blooms of Wisdom to them.
