“England #1” was one of sixty paintings displayed at my solo exhibit in 2020, Holland Area Arts Council, titled “The Roads of Life”. The roads, that I have walked around the world, the roads that impacted me and made me who I am. A person of this world.
This oil landscape was inspired by our trip to my husband’s native land, England.
England has such an interesting interconnection with my life. At the age of 10 I made the decision to study foreign languages with a focus on English. At that time I had a powerful and strong feeling that this would immensely and magically open up my world. However, in my future travels, I was mostly drawn to Asia. But it was a fate. 35 years later, while living in the USA, out of the blue, I met and fell in love with an Englishman. Now, my trips to England, the country I was focusing in all my school studies over 10 years, have become a part of our life.
