That was a phenomenal, but very hot summer day, exploring unknown to me remarkable places around lake Michigan and capturing as much as I could. When I brought home the four paintings that I did there, I never considered them as final, and was planning to make some final touches in my home studio. Over the months I would take them from the shelves, look for some time and put them back without knowing what direction to take as far as the finishing touches. Over the past fall, winter and then spring I did that thinking process several times.
As I took them back a day ago, almost a year later, on a beautiful summer day, I realized- they all have everything they need. Just looking at them they brought me back to that early summer morning feel, still fresh and quiet before the bright day brought everything into a vivid picturesque landscape.
And I know that if you had similar memorable moments by any of the Great Lakes or any other similar spots, this painting will also gift you with amazingly warm feelings. Due to its smaller size, it could be hung on the wall, sit on a small shelf or a fireplace mantle or on your desk.
Or this painting could be paired with another one from this series or even your photo!
