Wild and Free | 36"x36"
36 X 36 X 1.5
Oil on Canvas
This painting is a continuation of my Wild Grasses collections. My initial was titled " Born to be Wild".
And yes, it's the line from that American song, my boyfriend at that time, English by original, introduced me to.
And we absolutely loved this song dancing away, celebrating our love and the new life we have found in the states.
Two years later, we were lucky enough to purchase 10 acres of land in the West Michigan countryside, surrounded by fields and barns, to create our homeland...Our NEW HOMELAND.
We immediately started our project of developing this totally abandoned for at least a century land. And still to this day, 11 years after our move, we are continuing to be very busy cleaning the woods, planting trees, vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, flowering and fruiting bushes, fighting with the locals (raccoons, woodchucks, deer, squirrels, birds,) to have at least some left overs from our massive garden and orchard.
Can you now vividly see my inspiration?
This new recent collection of wild flowers is titled "Wild and Free".
That's how I remember myself, living in Siberian wildness with my parents and spending all my summers with my grandparents in their Belorussian village.
When people tell me "Relax imagining yourself somewhere, like, on the beach..." I truly can't relax this way.
I can only relax and feel the divine Universe and freedom... by being a part of the meadow with glorious wild flowers...
